Every year it feels like the same, December flies by, and the 31st is here before you know it. No plans yet? Not to worry. Cleveland’s top party destinations are lined up ready to host you and your friends to cheers the new year in style.
Whether it’s a dinner for two and a lot of laughs or a dance party with hundreds of your closest Clevelanders, it’s time to start making plans for New Year’s Eve. Where do you plan to be when the clock strikes midnight?
Big 80’s New Year’s Eve Dance Party feat. The Spazmatics
What is it about 80’s music that gets everyone dancing? Step back in time to one of the greatest decades ever and party at Hard Rock Live to your favorite 80’s throwback covers performed by The Spazmatics. Get dressed up for the dance party in your neon finest and big hair best. Enter our 80’s Costume Contest and you could win a Rocksino Dinner & Show Date Night Package. Hard Rock Rocksino is also hosting “The Rock Star of Comedy,” Pete George, in the Comedy Zone for a special, New Year’s performance at Club Velvet. Cleveland’s native son turns his quirky demeanor into a raucous act filled with cartoon voices, hilarious life stories and even a little Rock and Roll. It’s a New Year’s plan that’s twice as nice.
Pickwick and Frolic Dinner Gala
Why not take in a dinner and a show of a different variety to send off 2016? Pickwick and Frolic is hosting a buffet dinner followed by access to a comedy show, Nightbridge music, and the Midnight Martini Show complete with hors d’oeuvres, NYE favors, and midnight balloon drop.
If you prefer to attend the shows and snacks sans buffet, that’s the more inexpensive way to go. With a carving station, cheese board, and assorted bites like spring rolls and mini crab cakes on the menu, there’s not too much of a likelihood you’ll go hungry. Either way, you’ll have a chance to fuel up for a fun night ahead.
A Night of Broadway with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra
It’s become an annual tradition of many to spend the last day of the year enjoying the live songs of Broadway shows past. This year’s performance by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra will welcome special guest Melinda Doolittle of American Idol fame who will sing show tune favorites, as well as pay tribute to soulful legends like Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Gloria Gaynor, and Tina Turner.
And, the celebration doesn’t stop after the two-hour show. There will still be plenty of music and dancing until 1:00 AM in both the Grand Foyer and Smith Lobby with cash bars, desserts, and a balloon drop at midnight.
Dueling Piano Show at The Big Bang
Reserve a table of friends and get rowdy at The Big Bang. The VIP experience includes no line or cover. Plus, party favors, a platter of apps, drinks, and your own bottle of champagne to pop at midnight. It’s the start of a new year, might as well go big. Request your favorite songs and sing-a-long.
Standing room is also available both for VIP admission (no line, no cover) with drink tickets and the champagne toast, as well as general admission, which scores you one drink ticket and a little bubbly, too.
So many parties, so little time. This only scratches the surface when it comes to New Year’s Eve celebration to usher in 2017. It’s the last hurrah of 2016, make it a memorable one.
